How Much Sodium in Whole Foods Tagine Beef With Yams
02/09/2018
why would you utilize a super tender, very expensive cut of beef? Braises, like this one, are meant for leaner, tougher cuts of meat like chuck. Don't waste yous money substantially boiling a piece of meat that should be cooked chop-chop to medium rare to medium.
01/14/2018
With all the positive reviews we were interested to endeavor. Made exactly per recipe and constitute the season unidimensional and the beef was non tender (despite buying recommended cut). Cooking in a wearisome cooker might help with texture of beef and flavor development. Won't make again.
12/01/2017
This was yummy. Perfectly spiced. Prissy balance of flavors—sweet squash paired with the cinnamon and savory tomatoes and then the slightly spicy red pepper. If I had been served this in a restaurant, I would be very pleased.
I tried to follow the recipe closely (although I did not accept shallots and then used a half of a yellowish onion), but 1 tablespoon of oil with that corporeality of lean beef and onions is not enough. I used 2 or ii and a half tablespoons of oil.
Likewise, more table salt than is called for is needed.
The squash took far longer than 15 minutes to get tender—closer to 35 minutes (my friend says it'southward because we're at high distance—5500 ft. I don't know about that). So anyhow, I would recommend using a bit more liquid, a quarter cup or so, since more liquid cooks off in the longer cooking time—a little red wine would probably piece of work well.
I served ours atop millet. Very tasty!

Did yous add any other spices similar some of the other reviews country or did yous follow the spices in the recipe?

I take made this recipe twice both times in the crockpot, browning the beef first on the stovetop. Low an slow fabricated even non-super-tender stew beef turn out great, plus I think the extra cook time gives all those great spices time to deepen (it'south pretty spicy afterward cooking for 4-6 hours. I thickened the sauce just earlier serving with a little four and h2o which I think fabricated it even better. Cheers!

I am the kind of cook/baker who never repeats any recipe. In that location are as well many new dishes to effort! And withal, I'm dorsum on this site because I am making this recipe now for the 3rd fourth dimension. The start two times I couldn't get plenty. It's and so easy to make, reheats really well, and is a crowd-pleaser. I also used my crockpot after browning the beef/shallots in the spices. One time I roasted the butternut squash in the oven and added it well-nigh the stop simply to sit in the sauce a scrap. The other time I simply threw it in about an hour before turning off the crockpot. Both means worked great. I'grand a footling partial to the flavor of roasting so may practise that again.
01/04/2016
Excellent recipe. Full of flavor.
05/19/2015
I love this recipe! I actually woke up this morn looking forward to having its leftovers for lunch. I followed the recipe for the spices. However, I bought stewing beefiness (my butcher didn't take the recommended beef and likewise said that the particular cutting listed should be slow cooked for four-vi hours) and I idea information technology turned out very tender. The butternut squash was nowhere most cooked later 15 minutes. I ended upward leaving the stew on the stove for another twenty minutes. I served over couscous a la Moroccan style. This is going in my frequently-used folder of recipes.
03/08/2015
This is so excellent and could be served for company!
01/21/2015
Quick and bursting with flavor!!
01/21/2015
I plan on making this again equally there was some user mistake when I used stew beef instead of the cut that the recipe called for. This resulted in very tough and chewy meat. Otherwise I actually enjoyed the flavor profiles.
12/12/2014
Served with Butternut Squash Ravioli. Everyone enjoyed it!
03/06/2014
Wish I'd tried it in the crockpot. Next time, I will. Meat was not tender, largely due to the fact that my store did not have the exact cut called for, so the butcher told me that pinnacle round steak would work but information technology was tough and chewy. I would too cutting both the meat and the squash in smaller pieces. The season was very unlike - nice alter.
03/05/2014
Fabled. I did this in the dull cooker and it was easy and turned out perfectly. I coated the beef cubes in the seasoning so browned on the stovetop and the popped it in the ho-hum cooker with everything, except the squash which I added most three hours before serving time (cooked a total of near ix hours on low). The meat was then tender. Served with couscous (with toasted slivered almonds and raisins) and green beans (with browned butter and more slivered almonds) and a lovely red vino. Information technology was for an important meal with important guests and they were all very impressed. All clean plates and loads of compliments.
02/17/2014
Deliciously different for our kitchen, and a fun trip to Wikipedia to read about "tagine." Thanks for this wonderful recipe!!
02/thirteen/2014
Made this tonight for dinner for my husband and I. This is different from what I would normally practice with beef tips. I may make this once again, but it's non something that I couldn't live without. I used beefiness broth instead of chicken broth. I may have forgotten to put in the crushed red pepper and I omitted the cilantro. I served over white rice.
02/07/2014
This is i of my favorite CL Recipes, which I've made several times. It's very flavorful & delicious, but does crave a little longer cooking time. I as well add together almost a teaspoon each of coriander and cumin. If you need help peeling and chopping the butternut squash, CL has a peachy video with this recipe. Relish!
02/06/2014
1 of the all-time things I've always made from the magazine! This was a super easy recipe that was total of flavor!
01/12/2014
I added a niggling more paprika by accident and used regular chicken stock and tomatoes not low table salt. I didn't have to add more salt in this style at the end like i unremarkably would. We like estrus and so I added a little more red pepper than called for. We substituted yams for squash considering I don't like squash. It was really good. The primal with the squash was to boil them earlier or while the meat is cooking and then only half boil information technology so that you can still throw it in at the end. We were able to cook to the recipe time doing this. Also, we did serve it over the scallion couscous which gave some kicking to the dish due to the scallion season add together. Next time I will exercise the same but try quinoa for extra protein. This is going in our monthly favorites!
01/10/2014
Later reading all the negative reviews almost how this dish was bland, I got a little nervous. I used heaping spoonfulls of the spices in the recpie, and also added a teaspon of cumin to requite information technology that extra push into Flavorville. I really loved this ane. Truthful, the butternut squash took most x extra minutes to cook, but other than that this recpie was splendid. I served it over rice pilaf and I idea information technology was amazing. Definitely different. The cinnamon really adds a ton of flavor. This is like to several lamb dishes that I've made, with the earthy flavors. I was excited to use these flavors with the slightly less expensive ingredient. Will definitely make this again.
01/08/2014
It was O.Yard., just I dubiety I would make information technology once more.
01/05/2014
Followed the meat directions, then cooked in @ 325 degrees for 90 min, adding squash after 55 min. Used smoked paprika iso reg paprika. Very tasty dish!
11/27/2013
Very flavorful and filling dish. Like most other reviewers, we had to cook the squash longer. I don't really know that the beefiness added much to the dish. I may exercise this equally a vegetarian dish next fourth dimension.
eleven/14/2013
This dish was so delicious! I used very lean beef stew meat and added 3 or 4 dashes of allspice and cumin, and 1 dash of cloves - was perfect, I kept tasting the sauce as I adapted the spices and also googled a couple of other recipes for the aforementioned dish and they added these 3 spices which turned a rather bland dish into a spectacular i. Served it with quinoa.
xi/02/2013
I really liked this recipe. I made no adjustments. I bought the squash cubed and had the butcher cut the beef, then it was fast to make. The house smells so good while it simmers. I also reheated it for lunch and it was all the same tender and full of flavor. I similar my food spicy and this recipe delivers. As a side I made buckwheat and it complimented information technology very well. I will be making it again.
11/01/2013
This is a good base of operations recipe, but volition definitely demand some tweaks for next time. Hither are my tips for perfection! - Beefiness shoulder is lean - so it doesn't do well sitting and simmering. It was SO tough and chewy by the terminate. Next fourth dimension we volition saute information technology in our castiron, remove and add back at the end. Would be dainty lightly floured, but we'll skip that and keep it light! - We volition personally add the ruddy pepper later as well, since having it simmer from the beginning made it a bit spicier than we adopt. - Nosotros will use beef broth instead of chicken broth - it would have been a much better flavour and isn't a existent departure in calories. - I think we will also utilise fresh tomatoes instead of canned. They were fine but fresh would be that much tastier! Don't skip the cilantro! Nosotros near did and I'm glad nosotros kept it - it was a large flavor boost! And this went neat with plain couscous. This might even be a crock pot contender!
09/xv/2013
Nice recipe but the butternut squash was a bit hard to work with. I would rate this higher if at that place were ameliorate instructions on how to set up the squash for slicing. I followed the instructions on the video but had a tremendous amount of difficulty peeling and cubing the squash. Also the squash was not softened afterward only 15 minutes of simmering.
02/17/2013
This was very, very adept and I would dearest to serve it for guests. I oven roasted the squash at 425 for 15 minutes and then added information technology 10 minutes before the finish fourth dimension. I besides used fire-roasted tomatoes. I want to play around a trivial with the spices - some cardamon or curry-blazon spice might exist interesting. Served over garlic couscous. Will definitely add this to our regular rotation.
02/15/2013
Keen flavors and good last product. All the same, I used 1/2 inch pieces of squash and cooked the tagine after adding them for 25 minutes. Next fourth dimension, I will add more onion and squash (personal preference for more than vegetables. I served this with the recommended "Scallion Couscous" which complemented the tagine nicely.
01/28/2013
My family and I only have beefiness maybe one time a month because we are not big fans (taste and health), that being said this recipe was great. I was a fleck skeptical of adding those spices (paprika, cinnamon, ginger and ruby-red pepper) but they really complimented the beef and everything so very well. Nosotros accept a new interesting favorite.
01/21/2013
Nice flavor. Served with a crusty whole wheat roll.
01/16/2013
Peachy way to use butternut squash. I was satisfied with the flavor the spices produced and thought it was very like shooting fish in a barrel and quick. Served over regular cous cous, though I think it would have been good on information technology's on. Probably won't make again soon, but definitely a solid recipe.
12/28/2012
1 of the all-time cooking light recipes -- or recipes from whatever source -- that i've ever made. spicy and circuitous, notwithstanding so easy to brand.
12/16/2012
I admittedly beloved this dish, I call information technology a stew. I've made it numerous times, e'er with stew beef. I tin never leave a recipe but as it is though, then like others, I make some changes hither and there with the spices and additions. Beloved adding golden raisins and dried cranberries. I garnish with a generous portion of fresh cilantro, and ofttimes squeeze on some fresh lime juice, and a dollop of sour cream. I've gotten to the point now where I actually have a big spice bottle that is premixed with the spices I use for this dish, saves a little time, but that'south how ofttimes I make this dish.
12/15/2012
Fabricated this recipe the manner other reviewers recommended in the oven for one.5 hours at 325. I used filet mignon cubes, added carrots and raisins and served over Israeli couscous. Very fragrant delicious one pot recipe, beefiness became nice and tender when it was slowly braised in the broth and lycopersicon esculentum sauce. My family unit loved it. If you don't like spicy, one-half the crushed peppers. I loved this recipe so much I sent it to all my friends who dear to cook. Definitely a great recipe- comfort food with less than 300 calories and goose egg about it feels "lite". This will be in my arsenal for years to come up.
xi/11/2012
We loved this. Very fragrant, neat aromatic spices, beautiful to look at. I managed to get my 10 year erstwhile son to eat butternut squash without complaining when I made this dish.
11/10/2012
super easy and delish
11/06/2012
Used stew beef, simmered for several hours, added more spices (because my family prefers lots of season), grilled the butternut squash and used onions (no shallots in the store).
10/14/2012
Skilful, somewhat outside of the norm recipe. I'll didn't get the type of beefiness the recipe called for and either overcooked what I had or just had too tough of a cut. Even with that, the flavors were outstanding and I'm looking forward to the leftovers today. I served it over couscous with raisins and the sweet was a proficient touch on for my family.
09/06/2012
I was looking for a beef dish that my family would like equally I tend to cook a LOT of craven and my family unit craves beef. My whole family loved this dish! Wasn't too time consuming to brand and I made it with a cracked wheat tabbouleh (just substituted the wheat for quinoa in the quinoa tabbouleh recipe on this site) and served them next to each other in a bowl then you could consume them together if you wanted. Super tasty dish I will be adding to my regular cooking! I doubled everything pretty much since I cook for 6 and nosotros had some left-overs for my luncheon the next day. I make meals to deliver to other families frequently and would add this one to the dishes I like to make others.
03/13/2012
While the beef was very flavorful, the sweetness, and overall scent was over powering to me. I've never had a meal that tasted good, but smelled bad. For the recipe itself, I used stew beef to save myself some fourth dimension. Personally, I adopt skilful old fashioned beef stew, and information technology'due south easier to make.
02/22/2012
Really loved this. Followed the lead of some other commenters and played with the spices a bit: I used i tsp smoked sweet paprika and ane tsp regular paprika (instead of two tsp of the regular), added 2 Tbsp of cumin and i tsp of turmeric, used onions instead of shallots (no shallots at all at the grocery shop!), and added 1 Tbsp of tomato plant paste alongside the canned tomatoes. I simmered must longer than the recipe suggests to ensure the beef was really tender... and it turned out fantastic! Served over millet with plenty of cilantro - delicious. This is definitely a keeper!
02/xix/2012
This is a new family favorite. I doubled the seasonings and information technology was very tasty. Love the combination of flavors! We brand information technology all the time and have shared the recipe with lots of friends and family. They all love it.
02/06/2012
This was so skilful and easy to make! It was a party of flavors! My husband and I both loved it! I tripled the seasonings considering I had a two.5 pound roast but after trimming it, it turned out to exist more like 2 pounds. The extra seasoning was spot on! We also similar our food spicy so the extra red pepper flakes fabricated it perfect! Volition definitely brand this again!
02/01/2012
Beautiful dish. I made it exactly as the recipe called for and it was spectacular.
01/22/2012
Good...My wife and I really enjoyed this dish, and information technology was actually simple to prepare. I'm sure I'll make information technology again in the hereafter.
01/17/2012
Delicious. Even amend as leftovers when the flavors actually came together. I bought the squash already cubed and simply threw everything into a crockpot. Good and easy.
01/16/2012
This recipe was only ok. Information technology was a lot of work for a relatively bland result. I probably won't make this again.
01/13/2012
This recipe was fantastic. Non too spicey, simply just right for Moroccan dishes. Served it over brown rice. Will serve over couscous next fourth dimension. Beef was extremely tender and so was the squash. I believe it would also exist fantabulous with some stale fruit as well. Cheers!
01/11/2012
Outstanding flavors, and easy to make. We cubed the squash the day we bought groceries, and then this came together quickly. I'm not always a fan of the texture of squash, but it held upwardly well in this recipe and quickly took on the spicy, savory season from the broth.
01/11/2012
I enjoyed this dish, every bit did my skeptical husband! I followed the recipe exactly and had no problems with squash existence tender! The prep (cut meat and squash) took about xv minutes. In one case the prep was washed, the execution took almost 30 minutes. Served with pearl couscous but volition apply smaller couscous adjacent time. I volition make this over again!
01/09/2012
This was only wonderful! My married man and I loved the sweet and spicy flavour and the colors were just beautiful. Thank you for this recipe, we volition be making it for years to come.
01/08/2012
I followed what others suggested and cooked much longer. Browned the meat, and so cooked the shallots and garlic, added the broth (total tin can), the tomatoes and then the beef back to the dutch oven, then baked 45 mins in 325 oven. I added the squash and cooked for some other 45 mins. Information technology was wonderful!
01/08/2012
Very expert combinations of flavors. And then easy to brand and the possibilities are endless. I chose to cook the squash dissever and brew, serving the beefiness on top of it. Very delicious!
01/07/2012
Thoroughly enjoyed this recipe. Took a gamble and doubled it. Glad I did!
01/06/2012
Extremely easy and delicious! I doubled the recipe for four adults and three kids and had leftovers. I served it over brown rice. I followed as directed except for the following: one time I added the squash I allow information technology simmer for 1 i/2 hours (last 1/2 hour uncovered); likewise I thickened the sauce with well-nigh 1 T. of corn starch about 15 minutes before being done which worked very well.
01/05/2012
This was fantastic. I replaced the beefiness with some venison roast I cutting up, and served over brown rice and a side salad. Fantastic, this repast with venison came to simply 200 calories for a very filling helping. I would probably reduce the crimson pepper flakes if you like your food very balmy.
01/05/2012
Followed the recipe exactly. Wow, very flavorable.Broth was first-class. Side by side time I will add together some quartered small red potatoes for a true one pot meal.
01/05/2012
i would not brand this again. there is way too much crushed red pepper and while i do love spicy it overwhelms the other spices. and what's with the 1lb of beef? i used a 3lb roast and followed the rest of the ingredients just the manner they said to. i also cooked in a crockpot because i couldn't imagine a tender stew in such a express corporeality of time. non a fan of this one Lamentable!
01/04/2012
Fabricated it in the crockpot with stew meat and a side of polenta. It's soooo practiced! Definitely going into the lineup of regulars.
01/04/2012
Why would you call this a tagine? If you bank check the definition of a tagine it says: Tajines in Moroccan cuisine are slow-cooked stews braised at depression temperatures, resulting in tender meat with aromatic vegetables and sauce. I'm sure the flavors of this recipe would be greatly enhanced by dull cooking. Some dishes are not meant to be "quick and like shooting fish in a barrel".
01/04/2012
I really enjoyed this dish. I fabricated a few changes; added ground coriander and footing cumin. I also cooked this in the force per unit area cooker for 20 minutes since I used stew meat and needed to cook information technology more than for information technology to be tender. The squash was merely a bit soft, so might get for xviii minutes next time. I would certainly make this once again.
01/04/2012
Made this last night with a few small-scale tweaks (sugariness potatoes instead of squash and added carrots, used twice the broth). Extremely flavorful and super easy.
01/03/2012
Wow! and so much flavor and soo easy. I followed the recipe with the exception of calculation a little more broth and also put the dutch oven in the oven for one hour at 300 degrees. i served over brown rice. i will definately make this over again before the winter is over.
01/02/2012
Nice, but equally many other have, used cheaper beef and thus cooked for longer. Tasty though!
11/14/2011
This has get one of my favorite recipes; kitchen smells heavenly when I make this. Wonderful dish!
eleven/10/2011
I added 1/ii more spices to the meat than the recipe listed and browned the meat earlier putting it in the crockpot for most iv hours. I also omitted the broth as stated by someone else. My hubby is a picky eater, merely nosotros both liked this recipe.
10/02/2011
Definatly company-worthy! It smelled amazing equally it was cooking. Didn't have paprika so I substituted with medium-heat chili powder, used summit sirloin and fresh butternut squash that cooked perfectly. Family loved it! Served information technology with couscous as pictured, the kids even asked for seconds. Will add more chicken goop next time to create more than sauce, since it was so yummy over the couscous.
09/26/2011
I made this in the tedious cooker, equally suggested, omitting the one/ii cup of broth and it was just fabulous. The aroma from the kitchen was intoxicating while information technology cooked and the taste lived up to the expectations. This was very easy to prepare, particularly since I was able to pick upwards pre-cut butternut squash in the grocery. Everything simply went into the crock pot and I allow it melt on loftier for 4 hours. Superb!
08/15/2011
Great recipe and very tasty! I, too, had to simmer it a bit longer to get the butternut squash cooked through and since I used stew meat (all I could find on short detect) the meat was a bit tough. However, I am making this again tomorrow and will try the irksome cooker method to become tender meat. Worth a try!
07/26/2011
Husband loved it. Very like shooting fish in a barrel to brand and nice flavor.
07/07/2011
This is so good on a cold night. The only thing I alter is upping the spices by 1/four or one/2. This is a cracking way to use cheaper cuts of steak I find on sale.
05/26/2011
This was a picayune likewise spicy for me, but the flavour melded nicely. I don't call up I will make this once more.
05/07/2011
Very flavorful!
04/14/2011
So delicious! I couldn't find beefiness shoulder/petite tender roast, so I bought some stew beef which the butcher said would work. Information technology wasn't as tender every bit I'd expected but that may have been the cutting of meat. All the same, the flavor was out of this world! Spicy and warm, and the house smells amazing. Husband did not like the cinnamon flavor so beware if you accept whatsoever picky eaters in your family. I served it alongside lightly buttered egg noodles. I wish husband liked information technology because it is and then skillful and so easy, I want to get in all the time!
03/29/2011
Fantabulous and easy dish!! I fabricated my tagine nearly exactly every bit the recipe calls; however, I added 2T of basis cumin to the recipe, and I omitted the salt. I also simmered the meat longer--30mins to tender :) So good!
03/14/2011
This was actually skillful. Fabricated information technology pretty much as is except for 2 exceptions: 1. I put information technology all in the crockpot and permit it cook on low all day. 2. Considering information technology went in the crockpot, I didn't add extra broth, just the juice from the tomatoes, but the nutrient gave off enough of its own juices to more than make up for the goop. Very tasty -- stirred in basil and cilantro at the end for freshness. Yummy!
03/09/2011
Loved this recipe! I did follow the proposition of putting the pot in the oven afterwards it boiled. I put it in the over for an hour and twenty minutes at 325 degrees. Earlier serving I sprinkled cilantro and a splash of lemon juice. This was a fantastic recipe, thanks for sharing.
02/23/2011
Fabricated the recipe with the ingredients as written with no substitutions. I did dice the butternut squash into slightly smaller cubes and also let it simmer for a chip longer to ensure they were tender. It was a cracking dish with my hubby and 3yr sometime daughter loving information technology. Glad I have some leftover for tomorrow's lunch.
02/20/2011
I love Cooking Light recipes, they e'er work! Very good and easy. I used one-half of a sirloin tip roast (it was on auction) It was tender and not fatty. I used beef goop because I had an open box. Excellent flavor but a fleck spicy. I'll go far once again.
02/twenty/2011
Soooooooo yummy, my boyfriend is on his third bowl! Since we were snowed in I used orzo I had in the closet (boiled it in the xtra stock left from recipe) We put a dab of thick yogurt on top! A refreshing change to pot roast or irish gaelic stew or chilli fifty-fifty...this is going to be a household favorite for sure!!!!!!
02/19/2011
This was a tasty, fragrant, simple meal. I cooked for 6 and everybody liked it. Butternut squash is delicious!
02/19/2011
It was Amazing. I did alter it up a footling but think that it would have been fine equally is. I used fresh ginger instead of pulverization, I added a 1/iv loving cup of craisens with the squash. I made all of the recipe up to right before the squash on the stove in a pot and so moved all of it into a crock pot and cooked on low for half dozen-7hrs and then added squash & craisens and cooked for some other 60 minutes and it was perfect. We ate it over brown rice. I take already given this recipe out and I just made it tonight ! (oh yea, and I added nearly 1/2 more than of the cinnimon, paprika and cherry pepper)
02/19/2011
First-class! I fabricated this exactly as in the recipe including the couscous, it was very skilful and the smell was incredible. Don't skip the cilantro - it was perfect sprinkled on top. Bags of pre-peeled and cubed squash at my local grocery store made this very simple.
02/18/2011
Local marketplace does non behave beef shoulder cutting or petit tender roast (non fifty-fifty sure what that is!), and then used boneless chuck which worked perfectly well. This is a very good recipe, great flavors and textures, and I will brand again. When I do, will change couscous side additions from scallions to raisins or dried cranberries with walnuts or pino nuts and use all craven broth.
02/fifteen/2011
This recipe is delicious and so piece of cake to put together. I nearly drowned in my ain drool while smelling information technology cook! LOL I did make the couscous to get along with the recipe, but left out the green onions. I ladled the tagine on top of the couscous in a basin.
02/15/2011
I fabricated this concluding dark using the tiresome cooker. I used stew meet, followed the seasoning and browning instructions, added the broth to scrape upwardly the brownish bits from the bottom of the dutch oven, transferred everything to the deadening cooker, and added the tomatoes. I cooked it on low for 6-viii hrs adding the squash half fashion through. Next fourth dimension I remember I'd add it within the terminal 60 minutes or so. I likewise added 1/iv of dried currants and served it with the scallion couscous. Toasted almonds would be a good add-on likewise.
02/fourteen/2011
This is wonderful! Snazzy comfort nutrient. I will make for guests, next time. Later on reading other reviews, I increased the cinnamon and red pepper flakes. And considering I also had stew meat, information technology cooked for near 90 minutes. Served with brownish rice, crusty bread, and a yummy merlot.
02/11/2011
My hubby and I love spicy foods and this was a hit! The unusual combination of spices adds involvement. Besides spicy for some company though, so exist conscientious.
02/11/2011
i did not feel confident making this, but it came out pretty great because my lack of experience with this cuisine. followed recipe exactly... flavorful and tender... served with scallion couscous and naan.
02/08/2011
I followed the recipe to the letter. The terminal result looked zip like the beautiful photo. It was soupy, the meat was tough, and the squash was undercooked. For such a variety of fragrant spices, the dish tasted mostly like the paprika.
02/07/2011
First-class flavor. Easy to prepare...simply chop everything in advance. Served over couscous. Would definitely make again.
02/07/2011
Slap-up tasting and piece of cake to follow recipe.
02/06/2011
This recipe was spectacular. I don't have a dutch oven so i cooked it in my wok and only covered it in foil when it said to cover it, just i came out wonderfully. I volition exist making it again before the week is out.
02/01/2011
Succulent! Definitely will make once more. The flavors were astonishing and smelled amazing while cooking. The couscous was a great addition, wonderful flavour when cooked with the chicken broth (I used 'Better than Buillon' to make mine). My husband, who does not like squash, said "I love the mango!" I then let him know what it really was, still ate every drop.
02/01/2011
made the recipe every bit written except that i used chuck stew beef so i knew it needed to be cooked longer than the recipe stated. I used a fiddling more cinnamon, ginger, Paprika and crushed reddish pepper than called for every bit I had ii lbs of meat. After browning the meat, shallots and garlic and adding the liquid i baked the tagine in the oven at 325 for 2 hrs. I added the squash the concluding hour. It was succulent. Have enough for tomorrow nights dinner. it will exist interesting to see how the flavors have blended. Served with rice and scallions.
01/25/2011
Wonderful flavors! I made it with the couscous to which I added dried cranberries, lime juice, and walnut pieces. I actually enjoyed information technology. And so did my fiance who is a very picky eater. Score one for me and our new healthy nutrition plan. Cheers, Cooking Light!

My family loved this. I fabricated a double batch since my butternut squash was 6 cups chopped (to 3/4" based on other reviews saying it didn't get cooked enough) I'm glad I did. Served it on the light-green onion couscous. I probably wouldn't serve to company since the spice mix, while swell, is non mainstream cuisine.. but it was a large hit at our firm. Volition go far once again.

So fabled! Added stale cranberries. It was so good I couldn't stop eating it! Served it with Cholla (egg bread) and mopped up the sauce. Yum!!!
